A study on factors affecting employment of women with disabilities -focused on the persons with physical and brain lesion disabilities-

Abstract
This study is aimed to identify factors affecting employment of women with disabilities, compared to those of men with disabilities. Data are gathered from 503 persons with physical and brain lesion disabilities on the national level and binary logistic regression analysis is used. The relationship between considered factors and employment is different according to gender.
The result of this study shows women with disabilities are more likely to be employed with higher education level, more individual civil rights, and more social participation. On the other hand, men with disabilities are so with having spouse, higher physical function, better communication within family.
This study identifies the empowerment, civil rights and dynamic social participation of women with disabilities are needed to be stimulated, and suggests vitalization and diversification of vocational rehabilitation policy emphasizing human capital and information system affecting social participation are necessary.
